Our Mission & Purpose

Our group is made up of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and allies who look to promote ethnic and cultural diversity in the Loveland community, with partnerships throughout Northern Colorado. We look to inspire conversations and influence local change by engaging with individuals, organizations and community resources. Our goal is to support, celebrate, and embrace cultural richness for our community.

Culture

Heart and Sol strives to be culturally active and connected to support the growing diversity in the Loveland community. Celebrating and sharing cultural traditions, old and new, is highly important to us. Along with our partners, we produce Loveland’s Annual Dia de los Muertos as well as a popular Salsa Dance Night. We are working to expand the list of events we are a part of to more broadly represent and engage a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Education

Heart and Sol collaborates with others to be active in assisting our public schools and local community colleges with a variety of programs. Programs such as College 101 Night help prospective college students understand various paths to higher learning as well as how financial aid may assist them. Programs that support and inspire students of color through art-education (art-music-dance) are also part of our vision. With the assistance of teachers, artists, and educators we can help provide a richer experience for students in our community.

Service

Heart and Sol aims to engage the Loveland community through public service. We give our time and effort to worthy causes. With community partners, we are actively involved in assisting new and undocumented immigrants avoid and respond to unfair civil rights practices. We also strive to help and assist community partners with issues such as homelessness, mental health, and well-being. Service is a fundamental value for all of us.
